President's Editorial Again, this happens almost daily across the United States to those dedicated to carrying out court orders. This is the main reason for better legislation regarding licensing and legal protection to those who do the dirty work. The courts can not operate without a process server, nor the public benefit from having their constitutional rights observed. In my opinion Getz should have been charged with not only those listed but also assault on a public servant, namely a court appointed officer carrying out legal service on behalf of the courts. The same as a Sheriff's deputy. A major point to explain here is; what if it wasn't water? How about acid, battery acid, lethal chemicals, or some other combination of biological waste products? How was this agent to know that it was just plain water? Therefore, the charges should be made a felony assault including attempted murder, and threatening a court officer by intimidation, also including his verbal threat to shoot (kill) our agent. I may point out here that Mr. Getz was picked up by Aurora Police later on the previous charges outlined in the police report and faces a court appearance to explain himself. |
